Become a glassblower for a day or get your hand cast in glass

Imagine being able to preserve a moment forever - not just in your heart, but as a physical work of art. You can do that every school vacation at Holmegaard Værk, when our glassblowers are ready to cast your hand in glass.

The result is a sculpture that is more than just a work of art - it is a physical manifestation of a life story - filled with unique details and features from a moment in life.

If you want to get your hands in the material yourself, there are also opportunities during the school holidays to join the glassblowers and create your own glass masterpieces.

Under expert guidance, you'll get to grips with the ancient and noble craft as you shape and transform the piping hot liquid material into the glass of your choice.

See the glassblowers at work

In the hotshop, you can experience our skilled glass artists working with glass production at the hot glass furnaces every day. They blow glass every opening day between 10:00-13:00 and 14:00-16:00.

For almost 200 years, the glass workshop has been a workplace for generations and generations of glass workers, all sweating in the heat of the large tank furnace. Today, the tank furnace is switched off and filled with 45 tons of cold glass mass, which is also worth a visit.

Stone Age hunting in Holmegaard Mose

Hunt for time-traveling Stone Age animals in Holmegaard Mose in the game 'Beast Hunt'.

We have observed six different animals that have returned from the Stone Age. They have gone mad with time travel and are attacking everything and everyone. The peace in the bog is broken. Get ready to fight evil. But beware! The animals are cunning and lurk everywhere, attacking when you least expect it.

Wherever the beasts are hiding, you must track them down and send them back to the Stone Age. But the animals will do everything they can to mess up your equipment and avoid capture.
If they succeed, both marsh and humans are in great danger! We're counting on you!

Treasure hunt at Holmegaard Værk

Hunt for hidden treasures when you visit Holmegaard Works.

On your tour of the old glassworks, you'll pass living glassblowers, 42,000 Holmegaard glasses, 6,000 pieces of Kähler ceramics, fiery glass art and exciting special exhibitions - and if you look closely, you can find the answers to solve the rebus, which you can exchange for a small reward at the museum reception.
