Visit the Goose Tower's deep cellars, hidden rooms and historic floors, where the myths and mysteries of the past come to life in the exhibition 'MONSTER', created by multi-artist Shane Brox.
For centuries, people have believed in monsters hiding in the shadows of the night, the depths of the sea and the unknown regions where the imagination was given free rein. Monsters could frighten, create fear and symbolize the incomprehensible in human life - just as the Goose Tower has stood for 700 years and preserved the mysteries of history.
In the exhibition, you can look forward to meeting fascinating monsters. From the Love Hungry Kraken to the Terrifying Beelzebub, the Lonely Dragon and many more.
Your visit to 'MONSTER' is included in the regular admission price to the Danish Castle Centre. However, to ensure a good experience for all guests without too much crowding in the small rooms of the Goose Tower, you must reserve a free timeslot.
The timeslot can be reserved both online in advance or at the reception upon arrival. However, we recommend that you book your timeslot before your visit as we can sell out on busy days.
Your timeslot is your arrival time to the Goose Tower and lasts 15 minutes. You must arrive within this time, but can stay in the tower for as long as you like. Once you leave the Goose Tower, you cannot re-enter.
How to
Have a monster good time!
“We still create monsters in our everyday lives when we don't talk to each other properly - when we are dishonest, selfish or let our emotions take over” says Shane Brox.
Each monster in the exhibition has an associated emotion that inspires children and adults to talk about difficult topics in a fun and different way.
Visit the exhibition in the Goose Tower, look at the monsters and explore what the different emotions mean and how you can deal with them.
All monsters in the exhibition are created from recycled materials such as foam mattresses, old dresses, tin cans and curtains. With this, the Danish Castle Centre makes a creative contribution to taking care of our environment.
For example, come face to face with the Sad Bleemya with a skeleton and body made from an old garden parasol and discarded textiles, a nose made from a foam mattress and eyes made from frisbees. Look the monster in the eye and feel how creativity can help you process emotions and thoughts in a constructive way.
