BOOK A COURSE

Wherever you turn, the past and history have made their marks on the world we live in, and in this, Stege is no exception. Visit Møn's Museum with your class and join one of our excellent communicators on a town tour through Stege's history.

Questions about school courses should be directed at the museum's teaching unit. You can contact the teaching unit concerning courses at e-mail undervisning@museerne.dk

If your inquiry concerns a special event, workshop, or the use of our teaching facilities, but you are not a school, instead contact booking at booking@museerne.dk or call +45 3124 2687

Town Tour into Stege's History

On this tour through the streets of Stege, you'll hear the stories of wealthy merchants, tradesmen, wicked soldiers, fishermen, and paupers. In both good and bad ways, they have all left their trace and contributed not only to the history of Stege, but the history of all Denmark.

During the tour we'll jump around in the timeline, so it's important to keep your head. Right where we stand, there may be a medieval story, and the next stop could be about the introduction of industry. All of it colored with fun quirks and anecdotes from when grandma was young.

WORTH KNOWING BEFORE YOUR VISIT

How do we book a course?

To book a course, write to undervisning@museerne.dk

Write which school you're from, what course you want, how many students you bring, and date and time. You will receive a confirmation e-mail and a subsequent mail with practical information when your request has been accepted.

Can we visit the museum without booking a course?

Yes, but we recommend letting the museum know ahead of time if you're bringing a larger group- That way, we can ensure that there's plenty of space in the exhibits, and that no other events disturbs your visit.

What do we do if we have students with special needs?

We want to be a museum for everyone.

Please let us know of your students' needs when booking - such as motor disabilities, need for breaks, support for communication, sensory considerations, etc. Together we'll work out how to adapt your visit as best as possible.

Do the students need to dress in a specific way?

Yes, for town tours the students need to dress according to the weather, and wear good walking shoes.

Can we eat packed food at the museum?

Yes, Møn's Museum has a cozy museum courtyard where the students can enjoy their packed food.

What if we are delayed?

In case of delay, contact the museum as soon as possible. We will adapt your itinerary as well as we can, but in case of long delays some things may be dropped so as to not conflict with other scheduled bookings.

Can two classes visit at the same time?

Yes, several of our courses can be expanded to accommodate two classes at once. All it takes is enough teachers to cover the extra students - and that the course itself can be expanded. Please ask us.

Are the students permitted to explore on their own?

We expect teachers to be available to and responsible for their students for the entire duration of the visit. Independent exploration can be part of a course, but only when coordinated with the communicator.

What if we need to cancel?

Contact us as soon as possible. Cancellations must occur at the latest 48 hours before the visit. Late cancellations may incur a fee, unless there is a case of force majeure.
