THE ONLY SURVIVING HOLY SPIRIT HOUSE IN DENMARK

The door to Næstved's rich history opens at the entrance to the Holy Spirit House. The building, which today houses Næstved Museum, can be traced back to the Middle Ages and is the only preserved Holy Spirit House in Denmark. Over time, it has functioned as a hospital, nursing home, workhouse and military hospital, before it was converted into a museum in 1927. Step inside and experience a house where history still lives within its walls.

At Næstved Museum you can stand face to face with the executioner in a room with skeletons, axes and chains and experience the city's medieval history up close.

Visit the Næstved Museum of Design, Crafts and Cultural History and experience the city's history up close.

The museum is located in the middle of Næstved town in the listed Holy Spirit House from the 15th-16th centuries – the only preserved Holy Spirit House in Denmark. Outside the historic walls, a charming museum garden awaits, where visitors can breathe fresh air, enjoy the tranquility and let history sink in between the exhibitions.
