WORTH KNOWING BEFORE YOUR VISIT

Do I have to pay an entrance fee to visit the café, shop or Borgring?

You will need an entrance ticket or annual pass to visit Borgring. If you only want to visit the café or shop, you do not need an entrance ticket.

Do children have to pay entrance fee?

No, children and young people under the age of 18 always have free admission to the museum when accompanied by an adult.

What payment options are available?

At the museum's reception, which covers ticket sales, café and shop, you can pay in cash, with standard payment cards and MobilePay.

Can I bring my own food?

Bringing food and drinks may not be enjoyed at the museum. We refer you to Café Borgring instead. See more

What do I do with a stroller and pram?

You can visit the museum with both a pram and a stroller. The museum is designed so that you have access to all exhibitions via elevator, and there are no high steps or differences in level that prevent traffic.

Can I borrow a wheelchair?

Yes, during your visit to the museum you have the opportunity to borrow a wheelchair. Please contact the reception staff for assistance.

Can I bring my dog?

Only service dogs are allowed in our indoor exhibits. However, you are welcome to bring your dog to our outdoor areas. Just remember to keep it on a leash and pick up any litter.

AVAILABILITY

The Viking castle Borgring is designed with a focus on accessibility for all guests.

The museum is on three levels, but there is indoor elevator access , so all exhibitions can be visited without using stairs. There are no high steps or level differences that would prevent access with a wheelchair, walker or stroller.

Toilets and disabled toilets are located in the museum's arrival area, where there is also access to a baby changing area .

It is possible to visit Borgring itself via a gravel path that starts at the museum's outdoor area . The path is approximately 1.5 km long. Please note that the walk back to the museum is uphill, which may require extra assistance for those with walking difficulties.

Pets are not allowed on the museum grounds, nor on Borgring itself. Only service dogs are allowed on the Viking Fortress Borgring, remember to pick up any litter.

Smoking is not permitted in the indoor areas of Vikingeborgen Borgring. Smoking is permitted outside, but please be considerate of other visitors – and of course remember that waste must be disposed of in the provided bins.

Does it cost anything to park?

No, parking in the museum's parking lot is free. Get more help with directions and parking here.

What do I do with outerwear and bags?

There is a cloakroom in the museum's arrival area where you can hang your outerwear and bags. The cloakroom is free to use and at your own risk.

Where can I find the toilets?

You will find the toilets in the museum's arrival area, to the right of the reception. There is also access to a baby changing area here.

Is smoking allowed in the museum?

No, smoking is not allowed in the museum.

Smoking is allowed outside, but please be considerate of other visitors – and of course remember that waste must be placed in the provided bins.

Can I take pictures in the museum?

You are welcome to take photographs in the exhibitions at the museum, just as you are also welcome to photograph Borgring itself.

Can I charge my phone?

Yes, you can charge your phone at the museum. Please ask the reception staff for assistance.
