The Danish Castle Centre has a cosy café in the protected yellow staff building – the last remaining part of Prince George’s palace from 1673.
In spring and autumn, coffee, cake and cold drinks are available in the entrance pavilion, which you can enjoy indoors or outside, weather permitting. During the high season, the café is staffed and also offers light meals and snacks.
For a larger lunch, we are happy to recommend the many cafés and restaurants in town.
The café follows the museum’s opening hours, and table reservations are not available.
Please note that food and drinks brought from outside may not be consumed inside the museum, but can be enjoyed in our beautiful outdoor areas in historic surroundings.
The Danish Castle Centre is committed to accessibility. The exhibition building has lift access between its two floors, making it easy to move around with prams and pushchairs.
Gravel paths outside make it easier to explore the protected castle ruins.
Please note that the Goose Tower is not accessible with prams or pushchairs.
For safety reasons, pets are not permitted in the exhibitions at the Danish Castle Centre or in the Goose Tower. Assistance dogs are exempt.
The Danish Castle Centre places a strong emphasis on accessibility. Wheelchair users can move freely around the exhibition building, shop and restaurant. The two floors of the exhibition building are connected by a lift.
Outside, gravel paths have been laid to make it easier to get around the protected castle ruins. We continuously work to improve accessibility across the entire site. For wheelchair users and visitors with limited mobility, access to the castle ruins from Havnevej may be difficult. We therefore recommend using the entrance to the Castle Centre at Slotstorvet.
Unfortunately, it has not been possible to install a lift in the Goose Tower.
The toilets at the Danish Castle Centre (including an accessible toilet) are open to the public during the museum’s regular opening hours. They are located behind the ticket desk at the entrance.
A defibrillator is available near the toilets at the entrance to the exhibition. Please contact a member of staff in case of an emergency.
Lockers are available at the entrance. A 10 DKK coin is required as a deposit and will be returned when the locker is opened.
The toilets are open to the public and located behind the ticket desk at the entrance.
