EXPERIENCES ALONG THE ROUTE

When you hike on Camønoen, you don't just move through some of Denmark's most beautiful nature - you hike through stories, crafts, culture and vibrant local communities. Here you will find small and large experiences that make each stage choice more than a route: it will be a day filled with meetings, breaks, reflection and surprises.

The Camøno winds past art galleries and cliffs, through villages, forests, scenic viewpoints and protected cultural environments. Here is a selection of the experiences you can encounter on your trip – some planned, others completely spontaneous.

SELECTED EXPERIENCES

MØNS MUSEUM

In the middle of Stege lies Møns Museum – Camønoen's coziest starting and stopping point. Here you can buy your Camøno card and Camøno pass, as well as equipment and souvenirs.

The museum's courtyard and exhibitions provide a quiet break, and you can even stay overnight in the museum's own City Shelter.

Bogø Mill

Camønoen's westernmost rest area is located at Bogø Mølle – an impressive gallery Dutch mill from 1852, beautifully restored by the island's mill guild. Here you will find a packed lunch room, a toilet and one of Camønoen's iconic rest benches.
The mail boat The pipe

From June to August, Nyord's historic mail boat Røret sails between Nyord and Stege and to Zealand. An atmospheric way to start or end your hike – or take a day off on the water.
Rødkilde Theatre Academy

On the Museum Stage you will find Rødkilde Theatre College, which is beautifully situated facing Stege Nor. Take a break in the garden or use the school's toilets.

The college operates in listed buildings from 1866 and has a unique theater environment that you can catch a glimpse of as you pass by.

The Nature Block's guided nature experiences

The Nature Block offers locally known guides to seasonal nature – from orchids and birds to night experiences under the Dark Sky. Can be combined with overnight stays, campfires and outdoor cooking.
