ROUTES AND STAGES

The Camøno consists of 12 very different stages, which together make up 175 kilometers of hiking pleasure through the best of the nature and culture of Møn, Bogø and Nyord. Here you get a comprehensive overview of all stages – their length, atmosphere, terrain and highlights – so you can easily choose the routes that suit you.

The Camøno is made for calm, presence and great experiences. Whether you walk one day, a weekend or the entire route, you will find peace, variety and plenty of places to stop and enjoy the trip.

THE JUNIPER STAGE - 15 KM

From Møn's Museum to Nyord
The juniper stage begins in the center of Stege town by Møn's Museum and takes you past Denmark's best preserved medieval ramparts, onwards to Stege-Udby forest, and all the way out into the open landscape with a view of Stege Bay. The terrain is almost flat, and the route is ideal for beginners and families.

PRACTICAL INFO — HOW TO HAVE A GOOD TRIP

Walking the Camøno is not difficult, but a little planning makes the trip even better. Here you will find the most important information.
Packing list - the most important things to bring
  • Good shoes + two pairs of socks (one thin + one thick)
  • Wind and waterproof clothing
  • Hat/sunhat + sunscreen
  • First aid and blister plasters
  • Water bottle and snacks
  • Light towel, toilet paper and small toiletries
  • Raincoat or windbreaker
  • Power bank
  • Map or GPS (Camøno map recommended)
  • Sleeping bag and sleeping pad if you want to sleep in a shelter
  • Bags for garbage and wet clothes
Good advice for new hikers
  • Go at your own pace – the Camøno is not a race.
  • Drink plenty of water, especially on the cliff sections.
  • Plan stages according to mood, not ambition.
  • Consider two nights in the same place if you want to go on day trips.
  • Book accommodation during high season.
  • Remember that many of the Camøno's experiences are located between the major attractions.

Welcome center for Camøno hikers with a shop, museum, Camøno Passes, cozy courtyard and possibility of overnight stay in the town shelter.

Art Gallery 44Møen
International art hall in a former auto repair shop with exhibitions, talks, concerts and a special summer opening. Outside, there are works in the landscape.

GeoCenter Møn's Klint
Denmark's most spectacular nature education center with a 70 million year journey through time. A highlight for many hikers.

Postboat Røret

Rødkilde Theatre Academy
Historic buildings, theatre environment and natural gem at Stege Nor. Rest area and toilets for hikers.

Discover Bogø
Church from the 13th century, barrow, kitesurfing, forests, harbors, culture and lots of island atmosphere.

Beautiful listed mill from 1852, Camøno Pause, lunch room and view over Grønsund.

How long is the Camøno?

175 kilometers, divided into 10 stages and two shortcuts.
Is the route signposted?

Yes. The route is clearly marked with the Camøno symbol.
Can I hike the Camøno all year round?

Yes – but please note that some accommodations are only open during the summer months.
Is the Camøno accessible?

Yes. There is a special disabled map with a modified route and 23 experiences that can be reached by wheelchair, car or bicycle.
Can I pitch a tent anywhere?

No. Only at select camping sites and accommodations (indicated on the route and the Camøno map).
Where can I buy Camøno maps and passes?

In the Camøno shop or in the Møn's Museum shop.
Can I get water along the way?

Yes. At Camøno Pauses and several accommodations.
Can I bring a dog?

Yes, if kept on a leash. Some properties do not allow dogs.
