On shelves that tower an impressive seven meters into the air and 40 meters wide, you are faced with 200 years of history - told in glass.

The collection here, one of the largest and most important in the Nordic region, contains more than 42,000 unique pieces of glass. Here are hidden some of Holmegaard Glasværk's greatest treasures. There are first editions and prototypes of everything from the Provence bowl to the Lotus candlestick and fantastic unique pieces from some of our greatest artists.

The collection contains glass from, among others, Holmegaard, Kastrup, Odense/Fyens and Hellerup glassworks. Now, for the first time, the glass is presented together and – for the most part – at the place where it was made.

Holmegaard Værk's impressive glass collection functions as an open magazine. This means that as a guest you are allowed to experience the museum's entire spectacular collection - and not just selected exhibits.

A fantastic story about a piece of Danish craftsmanship that unfortunately could not survive, and therefore today constitutes a unique museum. Everything that Holmegaard has produced is displayed in the two gigantic shelves.

Definitely worth a visit.
