UPCYCLING: NEW FESTIVE ENERGY FOR OLD GLASS
Location: Holmegaard Works
Price: DKK 1,300 (max 28 students)
Duration: 2.5 hours
Target group: 3rd–6th grade & secondary school craft & design electives
We see the exhibition FESTIVAL AND SPARK that takes us to the table at Holmegaard's festivities over 200 years.
We go back in time to the festive holidays, the craftsmanship, the design at Holmegaard and forward to today's art, design and innovation.
FEST OG GNIST shows us all the fine Holmegaard glass that was designed and blown for the many special celebrations and anniversaries throughout Holmegaard's 200-year history.
We are inspired by the celebrations of the past and take the glass that is abandoned in the back of the cupboard and never used, or the empty tomato sauce jar from yesterday's dinner, so that they don't end up as sad old glasses, but are brought into a festive future.
In the Museum's Glass Studio, you decorate the glass you bring with you with exciting patterns that are sandblasted. Your glass gets a new look and maybe even a new function. The glass is recycled and now stands at the front of the cupboard or in your room filled with crayons. Upcycling is a positive response to society's challenge regarding sustainability.
Note: The course is only offered during the museum's opening hours.
BOOK YOUR COURSE
All courses can be booked by writing to undervisning@museerne.dk.
Write which school you come from, which course you want, number of students, and date and time. You will receive a confirmation and a follow-up email with practical information when your request is accepted.
We strive to respond to your inquiry as quickly as possible.
Do you have students with special needs or challenges and are you unsure whether they can participate in the course? Remember to tell us about it when you book. We want to be a museum for everyone.
