FEEL THE HEAT AND WATCH GLASS TAKE SHAPE

In the Glassworks, you can experience the museum’s skilled glass artists at work with glass production at the hot furnaces every day.

Glassblowing takes place on all opening days from 10:00–13:00 and 14:00–16:00.

BE A GLASSBLOWER FOR A DAY

Want to try it yourself? During school holidays, you can get hands-on with the material and follow in the footsteps of the glassblowers by creating your own glass masterpieces.

Cast a hand in glass or blow your own Easter egg or Christmas ornament, depending on the season.

CREATE YOUR OWN GLASS MASTERPIECE

In the museum’s cosy Glass Atelier, you can try your hand as a designer for a day and decorate glass with beautiful motifs.

The Glass Atelier is open from 11:00–15:30 every weekend throughout the year, as well as on the museum’s opening days during school holidays and public holidays.

STONE AGE HUNT IN HOLMEGAARD BOG

Outside the museum, you can hunt for time-travelling Stone Age creatures in Holmegaard Bog in the game Beast Hunt.

We have spotted six different animals that have returned from the Stone Age. And be careful – the journey through time has made them wild. They are cunning and may attack when you least expect it.

PLAYFUL DESIGN FINDS FOR ALL AGES

After exploring the exhibitions, you can finish your visit in the design shop at Holmegaard Works of Wonders. Here, you’ll find a carefully curated selection of design for children.

The shop offers prints, glass figures and toys in playful shapes and colours that will brighten any child’s room.

EXPLORE THE MUSEUM – AND FIND THE HIDDEN TREASURE!

As you make your way through the historic glassworks, you can hunt for hidden treasures. Along the way, you’ll pass 42,000 pieces of Holmegaard glass, 6,000 pieces of Kähler ceramics, glowing hot glass art and exciting special exhibitions.

Look closely, and you might find the clues needed to solve the riddle – which you can exchange for a small reward at the museum reception.

Children and young people under 18 always enjoy free admission to Holmegaard Works of Wonders when accompanied by an adult.

All exhibitions at the museum are accessible with prams and pushchairs.

Toilets are located in the museum’s entrance area, where baby changing facilities are also available. Our toilets are free for all visitors.
